Streetscapes

The BID has been hard at work for the last several years improving the complexion of Livingston's main shopping district. Streetscape work has been done in phases all the way from the gateway point of Northfield Road through South Livingston Avenue and the results are evident. Beautiful sidewalks, benches, flowers, and lighting have created just the right ambience to encourage residents and people from out of town to enjoy a stroll through town to shop and dine. Not only are Livingston residents enjoying a new found sense of pride as they look around, but Livingston has become one of the most talked about towns around the state and has been used by many other towns as an example of business improvement.

The next phase of the Streetscape work will be the Mount Pleasant Avenue intersection, beginning in Fall 2007. Crosswalk work has recently started which will aid in slowing traffic through town and help pedestrians reach their destinations safely.
